About Me

I have been a woodturner for over 20 years. I trained with one of the founder members of the AWGB, Reg Sherwin, I am now located in Weston-super-Mare and provide a service to the builders & carpenters in the local area. I am the preferred woodturner for the Knightstone Island refurbishment and hope to be the same for the Birnbeck Pier work when it comes on-stream.

I decided right from the outset that I would be a spindle turner, as opposed to a bowl turner. Of course as a turner of wood I actually have both skills as many items I make require a turned base.

But as a spindle turner and primarily a production turner, I am capable of making the same item many times over, accurately. Hence I remake staircase balusters (spindles) and other architrave parts for Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian homes to replace those broken over the years and no longer available through modern sources. I make individual antique repair parts or carry small production runs; One off turnings or bespoke items made to order.
